Sites
How great do you want to be?
“In the 21st Century, INFORMATION is the new currency and KNOWLEDGE is the new competitive advantage!”
Your greatness is tied to your desire to be a perpetual learner or student. Here are some of the great sites I use and also recommend as you continue on your entrepreneurial journey towards significance;
Entrepreneurial success is often the result of clear cut focus. There’s not one entrepreneur who achieved success who didn’t practice the art of being focus. Focus is simply knowing what to concentrate on and knowing what to overlook. It’s a constant balance between the important and the urgent. And this is why I recommend this site.
Zen Habits is about finding simplicity in the daily chaos of our lives. It’s about clearing the clutter so we can focus on what’s important, create something amazing, find happiness.
It also happens to be one of the Top 25 blogs in the world, with about 200,000 readers, and is uncopyrighted. Zen Habits features one or two powerful articles a week on: simplicity, health & fitness, motivation and inspiration, frugality, family life, happiness, goals, getting great things done, and living in the moment.

We live in an era of Information Technology and in my honest opinion, this is the best time to be alive! Never in human history has change occurred so rapidly. I’ve come this far and intend to still go further because of the untiring commitment and support of a friend, brother, and mentor Tolulope Oyebola, the CEO of Newchild, the IT firm that has been my bedrock for the past 8 years! Newchild is a professional IT support consulting firm that develops & implements USABLE IT solutions & services that deliver MEASURABLE results. They focus on helping their clients achieve MORE by ensuring they rely on the right technology for their business or personal needs. They handle all of my IT support needs (online strategy, websites, Internet services, repairs & installations, training, etc.) for about 8 years now and because I have been there from inception and still play a major role now, I can vouch 200% for their solutions and services. If you want to use IT to create leverage, this is the firm to talk to!
I marvel every time i think about the source of entrepreneurship – IDEAS. It’s weird how a rather seemingly invisible thought in one person’s head can end up in the physical realm as a completely tangible product or service that solves and meets the need of humanity. As entrepreneurs, we need to constantly surround ourselves with ideas, since it’s the source of our creativity. TED is a site overflowing with ideas – the very source entrepreneurship is made up of. TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. If you want to listen to the brightest minds in the world of business, technology, entertainment, design, creativity, politics, change, etc. all for free, TED is the site to visit. I regularly go their to download great speeches of brilliant minds from all works of life for FREE! It’s amazing having to listen to people like Al Gore, Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Bill Gates of Microsoft, Gordon Brown former Prime Minister of Britain, Bill Clinton, Steve Jobs of Apple, and even our own Chris Abani, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and many, many more all for FREE!
This guy writes books starting from the past then leading you to the present and also offering a road map into the future. How do I mean? He never writes a book until he has spent a couple of years researching about the topic with his research team which he calls the “Chimps”. All of his books are management classics, they are simply ‘built to last’. No wonder even the greatest management guru of all time, Peter F. Drucker had this to say about one of his books ‘good to great’; “It will not enable mediocrity to become competence. But it should enable competence to become excellence”. If your goal is to build a SIGNIFICANT business, this guy is the man to watch out for and keep track on! I seriously recommend you read all his books, he’s written about three now. You should read them in this order; ‘good to great’, ‘built to last’ and ‘how the mighty fall’. Trust me, you would become a better entrepreneur!
Seth is a change agent who has written twelve books that have been translated into more than thirty languages. Every one has been a bestseller. He writes about the post-industrial revolution, the way ideas spread, marketing, quitting, leadership and most of all, changing everything. I got the inspiration to create this site by reading one of his books titled ‘Tribes’.
Under30CEO develops young people who have the hunger to think outside the cubicle. Our job is to make you uncomfortable enough to do something with your life. We give you the resources, community, and inspiration to do it. Lifestyle + Business= Under30CEO. I guess it’s pretty obvious why I use this site; I’m an under 30 CEO and it’s been such an inspiration for me to connect and dialogue with some under 30 CEOs globally. If you are under 30 or want the kind of adrenaline pumping creativity and innovation of the youth, this is a site you wouldn’t want to ignore!
Lateral Action is a web publication that aims to help you succeed (however you define success) by getting you to realize that busy does not equal productive or more importantly, innovative.The Lateral Action team provides tips and techniques that help you focus on doing remarkable things, rather than getting trivial things done or never moving beyond “creative thinking.” Mark McGuinness, one of the co-founder of this site is a mentor and friend of mine for close to three years now. He coaches, trains and mentors people in the creative industry. If you are a creative entrepreneur, this is the world’s leading site for what you do!
As an entrepreneur due to the countless challenges we encounter in the world of business, sometimes we can really become stuck. When you get to this point in your entrepreneurial journey, this site will come in very handy. As the founder Dave Navarro puts it “I help entrepreneurs get “unstuck.” I push people past what they think they are capable of. I find solutions to their problems that they had never even considered, and I get them to think bigger, work smarter and believe in themselves more. I take their psychological baggage and help make sure it gets lost at the airport. I kick their asses, and then I teach them to start kicking their own!”
Larry Kelto, the founder of this blog is a very resourceful and Client Focused (Clifo) entrepreneur. He is someone who does exactly what he preaches and has been in the entrepreneurial game for quite a while,since 1993. I am an avid reader of his blog and would gladly recommend it for any serious entrepreneur seeking for more knowledge and skills for their business success!
The startup process for aspiring Solopreneurs is nothing short of an adventure. Solventurer—from the fusion of Solopreneur and Adventurer—explores a specific time period for a specific audience: the startup phase of the Solopreneur. Solopreneurs are one-person service-based businesses such as consulting, professional services, and online service-based ventures.
This extra-narrow focus allows a higher quality forum by discussing issues that are important to us alone. We’ll move past the standard small business start-up and growth platitudes as our business type and phase have a unique set of situations. And as one-person businesses, work-life balance is more important than ever and we’ll also discuss that. If you are an entrepreneur that provides professional services, this is a blog you do want to subscribe to!
