I often wonder why, until recently when I realized the cause apart from insecurity is mediocrity. Many of our business owners don’t want to build to last. They build to survive. In their eyes, they don’t see the business beyond their lifetime. And so why would they empower their workers to carry on? When they are content with the business collapsing after their absence.
